The Honor Our First Responders Act provides state-funded health insurance coverage for the surviving spouses and dependent children of first responders who die in the line of duty. The coverage, administered by the Public Employee Benefit Authority, must be equivalent to that provided to active State Health Plan members and continue for three years without any premium, contribution, or cost-sharing obligation for the beneficiaries.
