Allows state employees who are certified disaster service volunteers to receive paid leave for disaster relief services.
The bill amends the South Carolina Code to allow state employees who are certified disaster service volunteers of the American Red Cross or verified Team Rubicon volunteers to receive paid leave for up to ten days per year. This leave is in addition to other leave the employee is entitled to. The employer must approve the leave upon request from the American Red Cross or applicable organization.
