Introduced Text

Establishes requirements for central service technicians in South Carolina healthcare facilities.

This bill adds a new section to the South Carolina Code to establish requirements for central service technicians. It mandates that technicians must hold a nationally accredited credential and complete ten hours of continuing education annually. Facilities must verify technician credentials and maintain records of employment. Technicians have 18 months to obtain required credentials after employment. Certain exceptions apply for healthcare practitioners, students under supervision, and those with existing credentials.
