South Carolina H4796 amends the South Carolina Code to allow the Department of Insurance to examine or audit the books and records of pharmacy services administrative organizations and pharmacy benefits managers every five years. These examinations are subject to the general examination requirements of Chapter 13, Title 38. The pharmacy services administrative organizations and pharmacy benefits managers must pay the charges incurred in the examination, including the expenses of the director or his designee and the expenses and compensation of his examiners and assistants.
