Increases the number of circuit court judges in South Carolina by three.

This bill amends the South Carolina Code to increase the number of circuit court judges by three. It specifies the number of judges to be elected from each of the sixteen judicial circuits and adds seven additional judges elected by the General Assembly from the state at large. The additional judge in the fifth circuit must be a resident of Kershaw County. The Judicial Merit Selection Commission will nominate candidates for these positions, with the General Assembly electing the judges from these nominees. The act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
