Amends South Carolina law to add exceptions to the prohibition on animal cruelty.

The bill amends Section 47-1-40 of the South Carolina Code to add exceptions to the prohibition on animal cruelty. These exceptions include activities such as lawful scientific or medical research, zoological operations, national or state organization-sanctioned competitions, law enforcement duties, and pest control practices by a licensed professional. The changes take effect upon approval by the Governor.
