Requires nursing homes and assisted living centers to install video monitoring equipment at all entrances, exits, and common areas.

This bill mandates that nursing homes and assisted living centers in South Carolina install, operate, and maintain video monitoring equipment at all entrances, exits, and common areas. The Department of Public Health will establish a system for maintaining the recorded images produced by continuous video monitoring through regulations. The term "common area" includes shared spaces such as dining areas, recreational areas, meeting areas, and hallways. The act will take effect upon approval by the Governor.
