Eviction records not resulting in an order must be removed from public files within 30 days.
The bill amends the South Carolina Code to require the removal of eviction records from public files if no Order of Eviction or Writ of Ejectment is filed within 30 days. Additionally, eviction filings and records containing personal information must be removed from public index and files six years after final disposition. Records older than six years must be automatically removed.
