The bill amends the South Carolina Code to mandate that all members of any state board or commission, or any board or commission of any political subdivision, including school districts, must take the oath of office set forth in Section 5, Article VI of the South Carolina Constitution before they begin their duties. If a member of a board or commission took office before the effective date of this act without having taken the oath, they must do so at the next scheduled meeting of the board or commission. The act will take effect upon approval by the Governor.
