This bill amends South Carolina law to include surviving spouses of county and municipal public works employees killed while deployed in emergencies in property tax exemptions. It also defines county and municipal public works employees who may be deployed in emergencies as first responders for purposes of receiving workers' compensation award payments and for the South Carolina Overdose Prevention Act. The bill takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
