Anesthesiologist Assistants

Complete·5/19/25

Anesthesiologist's assistants can now be supervised by anesthesiologists and licensure requirements have been updated.

This bill amends South Carolina law to allow anesthesiologists to supervise up to four anesthesiologist's assistants at a time. It also removes the requirement for licensure applicants to appear before a board member and present academic credentials and knowledge. Instead, applicants must submit a completed application, pay fees, certify their ability to practice safely, and provide evidence of current certification from the National Commission for Certification of Anesthesiologist's Assistants.
