Illegal immigration enforcement

Introduced·2/6/25
Introduced Text

Establishes a reward fund for residents who provide information leading to the apprehension and deportation of illegal aliens in South Carolina.

The bill creates the Illegal Immigration Information Reward Fund within the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED). This fund provides a five-hundred-dollar reward to each resident who supplies information that leads to the apprehension and deportation of an illegal alien in South Carolina. If funds are insufficient to reward all eligible residents, SLED must prioritize them for rewards as funds become available. The General Assembly is required to appropriate an amount necessary to pay the rewards each year.
