Establishes the SLED Executive Protection Unit to protect the Governor and other designated officials.
This bill creates the SLED Executive Protection Unit within the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED). The unit will provide protective services for the Governor, the first lady, the Governor's minor children, and the Lieutenant Governor. It also authorizes SLED to coordinate transportation and protective services for visiting governors, legislative leaders, federal officials, and appointees upon request and approval.
