Introduced·1/30/25
Introduced Text

Allows certified vaccine technicians to administer rabies inoculations under a licensed veterinarian's supervision.

This bill amends South Carolina law to permit certified vaccine technicians to administer rabies inoculations to pets when supervised by a licensed veterinarian. It requires pet owners to have their pets inoculated against rabies annually and mandates that the date of birth of the person bitten by a pet or other animal be reported to the health department. The bill also defines "certified vaccine technician" and outlines the process for issuing rabies vaccination certificates and tags.
