Amends South Carolina law to allow insurers to release coverage information upon written request from an attorney.
The bill modifies South Carolina's insurance regulations to allow insurers to disclose coverage information upon a written request from an attorney. The request must be accompanied by a copy of the incident report or the South Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles Form FR-10. The insurer can provide the information by electronic mail or fax, in addition to the previously allowed methods of delivery. The request must also state that the attorney is authorized to make such a request.
