Expands the list of individuals allowed to carry concealable weapons in South Carolina to include public defenders, assistant public defenders, and.

The bill amends Section 23-31-240 of the South Carolina Code to allow active public defenders, assistant public defenders, and public defender investigators to carry concealable weapons anywhere in the state, provided they have a valid permit. However, these individuals are prohibited from carrying concealable weapons into local or state correctional facilities. The changes take effect upon approval by the Governor.
