The bill amends South Carolina law to allow normal maintenance or repair of piers or walkways in critical areas without a permit, provided the work does not involve dredging or filling and stays within the original dimensions of the structure. An as-built survey must be submitted to the department within sixty days of the maintenance or repair completion. This change applies to structures that are permitted or grandfathered. The amendment takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
