Pretrial Intervention, limits removed

Introduced·1/14/25
Introduced Text

Removes limit on persons previously accepted into a pretrial intervention program.

The bill amends South Carolina law to allow individuals to participate in a pretrial intervention program more than once. Previously, individuals who had been accepted into such a program were ineligible to participate again. The bill removes this restriction, enabling repeat participation in the program. This change aims to provide more opportunities for rehabilitation and to better meet the needs of offenders and the state outside the traditional criminal justice process.
