South Carolina H3508 amends the state code to allow property owners to request the immediate removal of unlawful occupants from residential properties. The property owner or their authorized representative must submit a complaint to the sheriff, stating under penalty of perjury that the occupant is not a tenant, family member, or involved in pending litigation. The sheriff can then serve a notice to vacate and, if necessary, arrest the occupant for trespassing.
