Paid family leave

Introduced·1/14/25
Introduced Text

South Carolina bill proposes paid parental leave for state employees.

The bill amends South Carolina's paid parental leave policy for state employees. It increases the leave duration for those primarily responsible for a child's care to six weeks, and to two weeks for others. Leave must be taken consecutively, except for foster parents who can request nonconsecutive leave. The leave does not count against accrued leave and must be used within a year of the qualifying event. The Division of Human Resources will implement the changes.
