Establishes the election of the Director of the Department of Insurance by the qualified electors of the State.

This bill amends the South Carolina Code to establish the election of the Director of the Department of Insurance by the qualified electors of the State. The director will be elected in the general election, with the first election beginning with the 2028 statewide election process. The director's term begins at noon on the first Wednesday following the second Tuesday in January next following his election and ends at noon on the first Wednesday following the second Tuesday in January four years later. The director must be at least thirty years of age at the time his term of office commences.
