This bill amends South Carolina law to exempt hair braiding and makeup artistry from regulation by the State Board of Barber Examiners and the State Board of Cosmetology. Hair braiding is defined as the weaving or interweaving of natural human hair for compensation without cutting, coloring, permanent waving, relaxing, removing, or chemical treatment. Makeup artistry is exempt from regulation as well. The bill also repeals a section related to the regulation of hair-braiding practitioners. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
