Public Employee Retirement Fund Investments

Prohibits the Retirement Investment Commission from investing public employee retirement funds in companies owned by China or the Chinese Communist.

This bill amends the South Carolina Code to prohibit the Retirement Investment Commission from investing public employee retirement funds in companies owned or controlled by the People's Republic of China or the Chinese Communist Party, or whose principal place of business is in China. The bill defines "People's Republic of China" and "Chinese Communist Party" to include all agencies, institutions, and instrumentalities. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
