Admissions tax exemption

Exempts admissions charged by certain nonprofit business leagues and chambers of commerce from the state admissions tax.

This bill amends the South Carolina Code to exempt admissions charged by business leagues or chambers of commerce that are qualified under 501(c)(6) by the Internal Revenue Service, are not organized for profit, and have no earnings that benefit any private shareholder or individual. This change applies to admissions tax under Section 12-21-2420 of the South Carolina Code. The act will take effect upon approval by the Governor.
