Introduced·1/14/25
Introduced Text

Prohibits electioneering within 500 feet of polling place entrances during voting hours.

This bill amends South Carolina law to prohibit certain activities within 500 feet of polling place entrances during voting hours. Specifically, it bans the distribution of campaign literature, political posters, and any visible or audible electioneering information. Exceptions are made for election officials, candidates within 500 feet of the polling place, voters' assistants, poll watchers, and voters themselves. Poll managers must ensure compliance, and law enforcement can remove violative materials. The act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
