This bill amends South Carolina's election laws to eliminate runoffs for special primary elections. It specifies that if the primary results in no candidate receiving a majority, the candidate with the most votes is named the party's nominee without a runoff. The special election to fill the vacancy must occur on the twentieth Tuesday after the vacancy. If this date is within sixty days of the general election, the special election is held on the same day as the general election.
