South Carolina bill H3289 amends the state code by defining "first responder" to include emergency medical services providers, law enforcement officers, fire department workers, and 911 professionals. The bill also adds a section to provide that 911 professionals are entitled to all benefits that accrue to first responders employed by the state and its local governing bodies. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
