South Carolina H3269 amends the state code by adding Section 40-18-75 to prohibit private investigators from disclosing client information and knowingly representing clients with opposing interests without consent. Private investigators can only reveal information if the client consents, if disclosure is impliedly authorized, or if it is permitted by law. Violators must reimburse clients for payments made for the representation. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
