Baby Olivia Act

Introduced·1/14/25
Introduced Text

Requires South Carolina public schools to include specific fetal development videos in health education.

The Baby Olivia Act mandates that South Carolina public schools incorporate a high-definition ultrasound video and a computer-generated animation into their human growth and development instruction. The ultrasound video must show the development of vital organs in early fetal development, while the animation must depict the process of fertilization and every stage of human development inside the uterus. The Attorney General can bring a civil action to enforce this requirement, which takes effect starting with the 2026-2027 school year.
