South Carolina H3244 requires the State Department of Education to review and approve all internet websites, computer applications, and software for use on school-issued digital devices to ensure alignment with approved curriculums. The department cannot approve resources that allow student-to-student communication, such as chat functions or direct messages, but can approve those with email capability or collective student communication within a course. Public school students are prohibited from accessing unapproved websites or downloading unapproved software or applications.
