The Weapons Detectors in Schools Study Committee is created to assess the public interest in requiring weapons detectors, including metal detectors and other technologies, in South Carolina public schools. The committee will consider costs, benefits, funding sources, and feasibility. It will report its findings to the General Assembly within ninety days of the resolution's effective date, after which the committee will dissolve. The committee comprises six members, three from the Senate and three from the House, with one member having a law enforcement background.
