Introduced Text

South Carolina H3208 mandates a uniform grading scale in public schools to ensure high school grade point averages reflect academic achievement.

South Carolina H3208 requires the State Board of Education to establish a task force to recommend a uniform grading scale for public schools. This scale must ensure high school grade point averages are meaningful indicators of academic achievement. The board must revise the grading scale by July 1, 2027, to align grades with content mastery as measured by the ACT or other designated standardized national assessments. The board must also ensure only academic performance is considered in high school subject grade assignments.
