Requires students performing two or more grade levels below their enrollment to be retained until they demonstrate grade-level performance.
The bill amends the South Carolina Code to require students performing two or more grade levels below their enrollment during statewide academic assessments in English/language arts or mathematics to be retained until they demonstrate grade-level performance. This applies in addition to the requirements of the South Carolina Read to Succeed Act. The act takes effect upon approval.
