Proposed constitutional amendment to guarantee South Carolina residents' right to grow, raise, and consume food of their choosing.

This bill proposes adding a new section to the South Carolina Constitution to affirm that all individuals have the right to save and exchange seeds and to grow, raise, harvest, produce, and consume food of their own choosing, provided they do not trespass, steal, poach, or abuse private property or public lands. The amendment, if approved by voters, will be added to Article I of the Constitution.
