The South Carolina House of Representatives honors Mark A. Williams, a retired and disabled United States Army Major, for his military service and contributions to filmmaking. Williams, who served for twenty-three years, received the inaugural Swan Lake Sentinel Award at the 2026 Swan Lake Premiere Film Festival. His feature-film debut, "Mary's Lake," filmed at Poinsett State Park, has been shown at many film festivals and earned seven awards. Williams also supports the Sumter Little Theatre.
