Introduced Text

Reduces the number of tax assessors in the North Tiverton Fire District from six to four.

This bill amends the act that incorporated the North Tiverton fire district. It reduces the number of tax assessors, subsequent to any voluntary resignations, from six to four after the annual 2026 meeting. The reduction of tax assessor positions will only be effective through the resignation of a duly elected tax assessor during their elected term. If any elected tax assessor shall voluntarily resign their position as tax assessor during their elected term, such position shall not be filled and the number of tax assessors to be elected at the next annual meeting shall be reduced until such.
