Rhode Island S3318 requires the commissioner of elementary and secondary education to identify high-quality curricula and materials for science and technology. Local education agencies must select one of these identified curricula by June 30, 2027. The commissioner will institute a waiver process for local education agencies that wish to use a different curriculum. The commissioner must also report annually on the progress of curriculum implementation. The bill takes effect upon passage.
