Rhode Island S3252 amends the terms of the pension plan for Central Falls employees in collective bargaining agreements effective July 1, 2026. The bill modifies the pension plan provisions for members in active service as of August 31, 2019, and those hired on or after September 1, 2019. It reduces the contribution rate for firefighters and police officers from 11.7% to 10% of their salary or compensation. The Central Falls plan will be closed to new members effective August 31, 2019.
