Rhode Island S3244 amends the Hospital Conversions Act to allow the Superior Court to place a hospital into receivership when certain conditions are met. The court can intervene if the hospital is mismanaged, financially distressed, acting illegally, or endangering patient health and safety. The attorney general or the department of health can initiate this action. The receiver appointed by the court has broad powers to manage the hospital's assets and business, including selling assets and paying liabilities.
