Rhode Island S3107 amends unfair discrimination statutes to protect against discrimination based on race, ethnicity, color, religion, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, pregnancy, age, disability, height, and weight. The bill prohibits healthcare entities from denying, canceling, delaying, limiting, or refusing to issue or renew health-benefit plans on these bases. It also bans categorical coverage exclusions or limitations for gender transition or reproductive health care services if they result in discrimination.
