Rhode Island S3092 allows municipalities to request a one-time, state-approved extension to update their comprehensive plans if they show active.

Rhode Island S3092 amends the Rhode Island Comprehensive Planning and Land Use Act to allow cities or towns to request a one-time, state-approved extension for updating their comprehensive plans. This extension is granted if the municipality demonstrates active engagement in the update process, such as initiating the update, engaging professional services, conducting public outreach, coordinating with state agencies, or submitting draft materials.
