Rhode Island S3079 allows members of federally recognized Indian tribes in Rhode Island to obtain recreational freshwater and saltwater fishing.

Rhode Island S3079 amends the state's General Laws to allow any member of a federally recognized Indian tribe located in Rhode Island to receive recreational freshwater and saltwater fishing licenses free of charge. This change applies to all members of such tribes, subject to the existing conditions, laws, rules, and regulations applicable to the holder of a freshwater fishing license. The bill also includes a technical correction to a separate section of law dealing with commercial fishing dealers' licenses. The provisions of this act are set to take effect on March 1, 2027.
