Rhode Island S3043 sets an earlier deadline for filing candidacy declarations and nomination papers.

Rhode Island S3043 changes the deadline for filing declaration of candidacy and nomination papers from June to April. It also delays the filing of nomination papers from fifty-four days to eighty-four days before the primary. The bill modifies the date of primary elections from the eighth Tuesday preceding biennial state elections to the second Tuesday. The changes take effect on January 1, 2027.
