Introduced Text

Increases the share of a victim’s total award for relocation expenses without raising the overall compensation limit.

This bill amends the emergency fund for victims to increase the share of a victim’s total award that may be used for relocation related expenses. The bill specifies that the maximum award for relocation expenses is eight thousand dollars ($8,000), while the maximum for modifications to a victim’s residence is one thousand dollars ($1,000). These awards are deducted from the final award, which cannot exceed twenty-five thousand dollars ($25,000). The bill also sets limits for burial expenses and crime scene clean up, ensuring the overall compensation remains unchanged.
