Rhode Island S2805 excludes nuclear power from participation in energy procurement by the office of energy resources and division of public utilities.

Rhode Island S2805 amends the Affordable Clean Energy Security Act to exclude nuclear power from participation in energy procurement by the office of energy resources and division of public utilities. The bill allows these entities to procure domestic or international large-scale hydroelectric power and eligible renewable energy resources on behalf of electric ratepayers. The office of energy resources and division of public utilities will provide advisory opinions on energy security, reliability, environmental, and economic impacts of proposed projects.
