Rhode Island S2781 prohibits unauthorized merchant placements on advertising platforms and third-party restaurant reservation services.

Rhode Island S2781 amends existing laws to prohibit unauthorized placement of merchants on advertising platform order interfaces and third-party restaurant reservation services. It requires third-party delivery services to obtain written consent from merchants before taking orders and arranging deliveries. The bill also prohibits third-party restaurant reservation services from listing, advertising, or facilitating reservations at food service establishments without a contractual agreement. Violations of these provisions are subject to civil penalties of up to $1,000 per violation, per day.
