Allows trucks with a gross vehicle weight of 8,800 lbs. or less to be registered as automobiles and issued passenger plates.

Rhode Island S2752 amends the definitions in the General Laws to allow trucks with a gross vehicle weight of 8,800 pounds or less to be registered as automobiles and issued passenger plates. This change applies to trucks that meet the specified weight limit and are otherwise eligible for registration. The bill takes effect upon passage.
