Rhode Island S2701 amends the General Laws to allow the town of Johnston to enact an emergency moratorium on housing applications if an aggregate of 250 or more units are proposed in comprehensive permit projects. The moratorium can continue until the permit requirements of § 45-53-4 are amended. Applications submitted during the moratorium will not be grandfathered. The act takes effect upon passage.
