Rhode Island employers can help pay employees’ student loans if they work full-time for 2 years in underserved areas and are in an income driven.

Rhode Island employers can help pay a portion of their employees’ student loans if the employees work full-time for two years in high-need professions in underserved areas and are enrolled in an income driven repayment plan. The Rhode Island Student Loan Authority (RISLA) administers the program and provides annual reporting. Eligible employees must have unpaid student loans, work in a high-need profession, commit to two consecutive years of full-time work in Rhode Island, and be in an income driven repayment plan. RISLA determines eligibility and provides financial counseling.
