S.2627

Allows, but not require, local licensing authorities to grant temporary periods for extended indoor service hours under existing liquor licenses for certain 2026 FIFA World Cup Tournament matches.

Chamber Passed·5/7/26

Allows local licensing authorities to extend indoor service hours for liquor licenses during the 2026 FIFA World Cup Tournament.

The bill allows local licensing authorities to grant temporary extended indoor service hours for liquor licenses during the 2026 FIFA World Cup Tournament, from June 11, 2026, through July 19, 2026. This extension permits licensed establishments to operate 24 hours a day and sell alcohol between 6:00 a.m. and 5:00 a.m. the next day. Municipalities can opt out, limit, or modify these extended hours through a city or town council resolution, but they must maintain at least normal permissible service hours and areas.
